The Families Programme

Reed in Partnership is the preferred bidder for the Families with Multiple Problems contracts in the East of England, London East, London West and theNorth West(Cumbria,Lancashireand Merseyside including Halton).

The Families with Multiple Problems contracts will support many of the 120,000 workless families inEnglandto move closer to, and into, the labour market. It will run alongside the Work Programme to compliment provision inEngland.

As an experienced provider of welfare-to-work and skills programmes we are excited to work closely with Local Authorities and partners to deliver a new and effective programme for families with a history of intergenerational worklessness.

What does the Families with Multiple Problems contract involve?

An emphasis on progress - Families and individuals will be encouraged to tackle their barriers to work, such as health issues, drug use and parenting skills.

A whole-family approach – by engaging with families as a unit, providers will offer holistic support to discover and address issues that affect the whole family such as family conflict or housing issues.

Local Authorities at the heart – those joining the programme will do so on a voluntary basis, and will be referred through Local Authorities.

Partnership – As well as working closely with Local Authorities, Work Programme providers and Jobcentre Plus there will be a strong focus on aligning services with local provision, especially with the voluntary and community sector.

This new approach to tackling worklessness will require multiple skill sets as Operational and Support Staff will be working with a variety of customers, families and providers.
