Overview
The Work Experience Adviser is responsible for engaging constructively by telephone with young unemployed people from across the UK referred to us by Job Centre Plus, explaining to them the benefits of internships/work placements with employing organisations to enhance their skills and employability, carrying out diagnostic interviews with them, matching them against available internships/work placements and smoothing the contact between employer and intern so that the internship is a success. As part of this regular follow up calls are made with both the intern and the employer to resolve queries and concerns and ensure that an internship is successfully completed.
Working as part a large team dedicated to this 17month Backing Young Britain Contract, the Work Experience Adviser role is a vital component in the government’s strategy to combat the effects of unemployment on young people.
